So me and Jon were watching the Indian Thriller video (don't ask why Razz) and we then had the thought about how Ancient world armies would deal with a Zombie Apocalypse.

I chose the Romans as the army to deal with them, a little re-equipping of their leg Armour then they could advance taking the zombies down allowing rear ranks to finish them off.

Jon also chose Romans but rather than the change in Armour he would equip his troops with maces to get the killing head blow in.

We have both read Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z so are basing our choices on this Smile

Any thoughts??

I'm thinking Thracians would do quite well too in the long run, being rugged outdoor types.

Lightly equipped as usual, and using slings rather than javelins at range, their mobile method of fighting may give them an edge. And a rhomphaia is not to be sneezed at in the decapitation/brain destroying stakes either.

Not the greatest for a head-on battle with zombies, but definitely in with a chance for long-term survival, I reckon.
